AN EVENING WITH VIKA AND LINDA BULL

Friday, May 18, 2012

For 25 years, the glorious voices of Vika and Linda Bull have comprised one of the most distinctive, versatile

Since their multi-platinum conquest of pop radio with
the Black Sorrows in the late 1980s, the sisters have forged diverse pathways into soul, gospel, blues, country and the island music of their Tongan ancestry.

By turns tender and powerful, their rich solo vocals
and instinctive harmonies have spawned eight albums
of their own, as well as illuminating studio and concert performances by Paul Kelly, Renee Geyer, John Farnham, Hunters & Collectors, Tim Finn, Kasey Chambers,
John Butler and many more.

AN EVENING WITH VINCE JONES

Friday, July 13

"...a soulful survivor, with a voice as cool as a long G&T" - Beat Magazine

If there was one voice in Australian jazz more recognized than any other, it would be that of Vince Jones.

Our leading vocalist, interpreter, trumpet player and composer in a contemporary jazz style, it has been said that a brief, thoughtful solo from Vince Jones is worth a
hundred notes played with less discretion.

The heart of his work lies between Afro-American blues and Celtic folk tradition, a style that has seen him achieve critical acclaim and loyal audiences in Europe,
US and Australia.

Performing in the intimate surrounds of the historic Stones barn, Vince will be joined on stage by three musicians highly regarded in their own right -
Simon Barker on drums, Matt McMahon on
piano and Ben Waples on bass.

Date: Friday, July 13, 2012 | Time: Doors open 6.30pm
Cost:
$110 per person
(Three-course dinner and show - excludes beverages)

AN EVENING WITH DON WALKER

Saturday, July 28, 2012

"the most Australian writer there has ever been. Quite frankly, I think he's better than the rest of us..." - Richard Clapton

Don Walker was born in Ayr, North Queensland, in 1951. As a member of and main songwriter for Cold Chisel between 1973 and 1983 he wrote "Saturday Night", "Cheap Wine", "Standing on the Outside", "Four Walls", "Khe Sahn" along with many others, and co-wrote
"Flame Trees". Enough said.

One of Australia's most celebrated songwriters and raconteurs, Don Walker will lead you down the highway with tales of outback towns and science fiction, Hebrew myth, country halls and Bluecaps rock'n'roll, timber yards and poolrooms by the sea. Tales handed down from other centuries and those that had to be lived first hand.

Backed by his five piece band the SF's, this will be
Don's first performance at Stones of the Yarra Valley - come and spend a night with one of Australia's
truly great storytellers.

Date: Saturday, July 28 | Time: Doors open 6.30pm
Cost:
$110 per person
(Three-course dinner and show - excludes beverages)
